How to make

  1. Prepare all the elements to make your face.
For the lips: use a sharp knife to cut a top and bottom lip from your pepper.
For the nose and neck: use a sharp knife to cut a nose out of your ham and a neck.
For the cheeks: use a round cookie cutter to cut 2 rounds of ham.
For the eyes: use a round cookie cutter to cut 2 rounds of cheese, slice your black olives then cut 1 olive in half lengthways, slicing each half into strips and then cutting them all in half again — these will be your eyelashes.
For the eyebrows: pick a few sprigs of curly parsley from the bunch.
For the earrings: slice one radish thinly to make six rounds.
For the frilly shirt collar: slice your mushrooms and fry them gently in some butter.
  2. Toast your bread and wait for it to cool a little before spreading over the extra butter.
  3. Place the nose and neck onto your “face” first, followed by the cheese rounds for the backs of the eyes, and the ham cheeks.
  4. Carefully add the round olive slices for eyes, and the eyelash strips along with the parsley for the eyebrows.
  5. Finish by adding mushrooms to create the frilly shirt top and radishes for the earrings.
  6. Finally, make your eyes by whisking them in a bowl with the double cream. Add 15g unsalted butter to a pan until melted, then pour in the eggs and use a rubber spatula to cook them low and slow until they’re scrambled but still have some moisture.
  7. Add the eggs for the hair and serve immediately!
