Not sure how to use the Durstons vegetable planter to get maximum results? Luckily, Dan, a sixth generation of Durstons, is here to give you his top tips!

From juicy tomatoes and sweet peppers to crisp green cucumbers, we’re sure you’ll love our new vegetable planter, as it contains a specialist compost mix designed for bumper cropping!

We’ve only used high-quality ingredients in the mix and tailored the nutrients to suit hungry veg plants. As such, you’ll notice these benefits:

  • Deeper fill for enhanced root growth and moisture retention.

  • High water-holding capacity for the hotter months.

  • Strong feed level for hungry fruit and veg plants.

  • Enhanced microbiological activity supporting a natural nutrient cycle – thanks to Groboost. Our unique Groboost has a beneficial microbiological profile, is 100% natural and renewable and holds nutrients so they don’t leach.

Durstons top tips for veg success:

  • Make sure you break up and fluff up the compost before you transplant.

  • When transplanting tomatoes from a pot to the planter, ensure you bury the stem 1-2 inches below the surface – this will enhance root development and strengthen your plants.

  • Don’t over water – stick your finger into the compost before adding more. Our compost holds water deep where the roots need it.

  • Once fruit starts to appear, add a high potassium feed to maximise the crop.

  • Keep an eye out for pests! Instead of heading for the chemical killer, prepare a weak dish soap solution and spray the underside of the leaves and any visible pests.

It’s that easy! Ready to try for yourself? Pick up your vegetable planter here.
